A manager at the downtown Toledo restaurant says the restaurant will re-open “in a few days”.
TOLEDO, Ohio — A fire in a building on Saturday evening caused an evacuation at a popular downtown Toledo eatery.
A manager at Ye Olde Durty Bird on South St. Clair Street says a small fire in offices above the restaurant caused sprinklers to go off.
The fire happened around 5:30 p.m.
The manager says the restaurant closed and everyone was evacuated when they noticed smoke from the fire in the restaurant.
A sprinkler did go off in the restaurant, causing water damage.
The Durty Bird is expected to re-open in a few days. People are encouraged to look at their social media pages for updates.
