Findlay-Hancock County Public Library to no longer provide access to “Hoopla”

HANCOCK Co., Ohio (WTVG) – The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will stop providing access to Hoopla on Oct. 31 as the library works to navigate its new budget.

According to a social media post from the library, the pay-per-use service was continuing to grow and required 20% of the library’s materials budget in 2025. Library officials said maintaining the service reached an unsustainable cost.

Hoopla is a service that allows people to borrow and stream movies, audiobooks, music, ebooks and more using their library card.

Going forward, the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will be reallocating some of its Hoopla budget to the Ohio Digital Library Collection (ODLC).

The ODLC will allow cardholders to place up to 20 items on hold at a time, browse collections and create a wish list.
