TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Greg Hillabrand is the President of Hillabrand and Sons Construction in Northwood. He and his wife, Julie, also head up a non-profit in honor of their son.
In December of 2019, Greg and Julie welcomed their first children, triplets who were born premature. Miley, Cora, and Griffin spent months in the NICU. In March 2020, Griffin’s short life came to an end.
“We knew that we wanted to do something even before Griffin passed away, just the care that we received from the children’s hospital,” said Greg Hillabrand, who launched The Griffin James Hillabrand Foundation with Julie in honor of their son.
The non-profit’s first contribution to the NICU at the ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital was $5M to create a milk lab.
“It’s something that they wanted for a long time, and there was a lot of momentum, you know, that we gathered quickly on that. You know, fast forward a couple of years later and we’re sitting in that Milk Lab and it’s been very successful and the feeds have gone really well and I think it’s really advanced the quality of care in the NICU,” added Greg.

“I remember getting some stats on it and there was 116 successful feeds without errors, and that is a very successful stat,” said Greg.
