TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Galapagos tortoise that’s been at the Toledo Zoo since 2014 has passed.
The Zoo announced Friday that Emerson, 80, was euthanized after several years battling heart disease.
The 500 lb. reptile “captivated visitors” who had “admired his majestic presence and gentle nature.”
