Domestic violence awareness walk raises money for local org, honors memory of Toledo woman


TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Friends and family of Tammy Bowlin-Macrae, a Toledo woman who was murdered by her boyfriend on August 25, 2007, are organizing the 15th annual walk in her memory to raise awareness of domestic violence in the community.

Tammy’s Walk will be on Saturday, August 23. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Walbridge Park gazebo on Broadway Street in Toledo and the 2.5-mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m.

All proceeds from the walk benefit Advocates for Victims and Justice, Inc., a nonprofit that supports victims of violent crime in Lucas County.

Donations of cash, raffle items, food, beverages and more are requested to help offset costs.

Items can be mailed to Tammy’s Walk, c/o 2544 Bittersweet Drive, Toledo, Ohio 43614, or pick-ups can be arranged.
