The Cleveland Browns traded with the Philadelphia Eagles to secure QB Shedeur Sanders at pick #144.
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns sent shockwaves through the NFL Draft by trading up in the 5th round with the Philadelphia Eagles to select the freefalling Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders.
Just two picks removed from selecting Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel at the tail end of the third round (94th overall), Cleveland adds Sanders to a quickly crowded QB room featuring Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and yes, Deshaun Watson.
The terms of the trade have been confirmed by the Cleveland Browns and are as followed:
- Browns receive 2025 5th rounder (#144)
- Eagles receive: 2025 5th rounder (#166), 2025 6th rounder (#192)
Sanders’ freefall was a story unlike the NFL draft has had since Aaron Rodgers famously sat in the green room late into the first round of the 2025 draft.
Once thought to be a possible top-5 draft pick and potential target for the Browns at #2 overall, Sanders ended up being the 6th quarterback taken off the board.
Shedeur Reacts
Just moments after Browns answered Shedeur’s prayers, he went live on Twitch to thank the team for showing faith in him and extending the opportunity.
