TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The City of Toledo has announced it aims to deliver significant improvement to its roadways through its 2025 Residential Roads Program.
The city says the program includes investments in safety enhancements to ensure better experiences for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.
Key highlights of the program include:
- Residential Roads: 42.64 miles of reconstruction and resurfacing with a $25 million budget.
- Major Roads: 16.41 miles of improvements with a $21.5 million budget.
- Patch and Seal: 30.03 miles of roadways to receive targeted repairs to extend pavement life.
“Our 2025 Roads Program represents our commitment to improving Toledo’s infrastructure for today and the future,” said Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz. “By combining smoother roads with vital safety upgrades, we’re ensuring a better experience for all street users.”
The city also announced it is introducing the following resources to improve communication and preparedness during construction projects:
- On Your Block: Getting Ready for Residential Road Construction
- Webinars that will provide residents with an overview of what to expect during different types of construction projects
- Resurfacing, Reclamation, and Patch and Seal Projects
- Reconstruction Projects
- Paving the Way: How Toledo Businesses Can Prepare for Road Construction
- This event will help businesses prepare for construction impacts, focusing on projects one year out. All businesses affected by upcoming construction are welcome to attend.
