Car crashes into Fulton County home, causes minor damage

A car crashed into a home and its gas line in Swan Creek Township late Thursday morning. The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, authorities said.

SWANTON, Ohio — A car crashed into a Fulton County home Thursday morning, causing minor damage to the house and a connected gas line, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Crews were called around 11:24 a.m. to the 3000 block of County Road H after the vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck the home, OSHP Toledo Post commander Lt. Rustun Schack told WTOL 11 at the scene. The airbags deployed inside the vehicle following the crash.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Authorities believe a medical condition may have caused the incident, though the crash remains under investigation. The driver has not yet been identified.

According to Swanton Fire Chief Cuyler Kepling, there is no hazard to the community and the scene was cleared sometime before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
