CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Browns offensive struggles continued Sunday in a 23-9 loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
Cleveland’s Dillon Gabriel passed for 221 yards, completing 29 of 51 passes (no touchdowns). He seldom threw the ball down the field and averaged only 4.3 yards per pass.
He was also sacked 6 times.
The Browns averaged just 3.3 yards per play and went 6-for-17 on 3rd down.
The Browns still haven’t won a regular-season game in Pittsburgh since 2003.
Aaron Rodgers went 21-of-30 for 235 yards and 2 TD for Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh got its first TD in the 3rd when Rodgers hit Connor Heyward to make it 16-3 Steelers.
Rookie RB Quinshon Judkins was held to just 36 yards on 12 carries.
The teams combined for 4 first-half field goals as Pittsburgh took a 9-3 lead to the break.
Tight end David Njoku left in the 4th with a leg injury.
Tackle Jack Conklin departed in the 3rd with a concussion and did not return.
Tackle Cam Robinson got his ankle rolled up on late in the 4th and also was done for the day.
Cleveland (1-5) returns home next Sunday to host Miami (1-5) at 1 p.m.
