Police said the person was deceased prior to emergency personnel arrival.
ADRIAN, Michigan — An Adrian resident was killed Wednesday afternoon while trying to service a vehicle, according to a press release from the city’s police department.
In the release, police said officers and the city’s fire and rescue crews responded to the 900 block of South Winter Street around 2:40 p.m. after receiving a call that a person was trapped beneath a vehicle.
Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, described as a 67-year-old male from Adrian, trapped under the vehicle. The person had died prior to the arrival of emergency crews, police said.
An investigation indicated the person “slipped from a jack being used to elevate the vehicle for service,” police said.
Police continue to investigate, and ask anyone with information, or any witnesses who have not yet made statements to police, to contact Detective Lamar Rufner at 517-264-4808.
