TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A teenager was arrested for allegedly leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit in a stolen car before crashing, police said.
Police said a 16-year-old boy from Toledo led Ohio troopers on a pursuit in a stolen Toyota 4-Runner Sunday morning around 3:30 a.m. Toledo Police officers eventually joined the police chase.
The teen allegedly took city streets, eventually heading eastbound on I-475 to I-75 North. Police said he then took the Phillips Ave. exit and crashed into a ditch just under a viaduct on Phillips.
The boy tried to run away from the scene of the crash, police said, but troopers and officers were able to catch him and take him into custody.
Authorities took him to an area hospital to get checked out. The extent of any possible injuries is unclear.
