COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team picked up its third win in a week with a 16-4 victory over Bellarmine Tuesday afternoon at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
With the win over the Knights (1-2), Ohio State’s fourth game in 11 days, the Buckeyes improve to 3-1 on the year.
The Short Story
The Buckeyes scored a season-high 16 goals and held their opponent to four goals for the third consecutive game in Tuesday’s win.
Ryan Donnery, Garrett Haas and Alex Marinier recorded hat tricks while nine different players tallied a goal for the Buckeyes. Haas finished the game with a career-high six points with three assists on the day.
Ohio State caused 18 of the Knights’ 24 turnovers with Zack Antoniou recording a career high-tying four caused turnovers in the game. Bobby Van Buren added a career-best three caused turnovers and Braden Glushakow was credited for two. Cullen Brown caused a turnover and picked up five ground balls on the day.
The defense allowed just 18 shots by Bellarmine with sophomore goaltender Caleb Fyock making six saves to improve to 3-0 on the year. Henry Blake and Macguire Scholl also saw time in goal for the Buckeyes in the fourth quarter.
At the faceoff X, Jack Oldman was 14-for-20 and grabbed a team-high seven ground balls. Coleman Kraske also got a look, winning his only attempt of the game.

How it Happened
- The Buckeyes opened the game on a four-goal scoring run started by Greg Langermeier at 10:41 in the first quarter. Following Langermeier’s first goal of the season, Garrett Haas (9:23), Ryan Donnery (7:08) and Alex Marinier (6:17) tallied their first of three goals for the game. Bellarmine tallied their lone goal of the first frame with two seconds remaining as Ohio State led 4-1 entering the second quarter.
- Shane O’Leary connected with Dillon Magee for his first goal of the day, and third of the season, at 8:16 in the second quarter but Bellarmine answered with their second goal of the game at 4:30.
- The Buckeyes ended the second quarter scoring with a goal from Donnery at 1:50 to take the 6-2 advantage at the half.
- Bellarmine tallied the first and last goals of the second half, but that’s all the Ohio State defense would allow in the half. The Buckeyes held the Knights scoreless for 27:44 between those goals.
- After the Knights scored 10 seconds into the third quarter, the Buckeyes rattled off 10 goals in the next 17 minutes.
- Donnery completed his hat trick with the team’s first goal of the third at 13:35. O’Leary earned his first multi-goal game as a Buckeye with a goal at 12:46 and Marinier recorded his third multi-goal game of the year with his second of the game at 6:12. Liam White added his second career goal at 2:45.
- Ohio State ended the third quarter with three goals in the final 30 seconds. A Griffin Turner goal with 29 seconds remaining put the team ahead 11-3. After assisting Turner’s goal, Haas scored twice in the final 20 seconds and drew a penalty on the second to put Ohio State on the player advantage to start the fourth quarter with a 13-3 lead.
- All three of the Buckeyes’ fourth quarter goals were man-up with Jack McKenna, Ed Shean and Alex Marinier scoring in the first 1:34 of play in the final quarter to help the Buckeyes to the 16-4 win.
