Virtual golf venue owner weighs in on Topgolf-like facility set for Perrysburg

The owner of Pro Golf Fairways has three virtual golf locations in the Toledo area. He isn’t worried about incoming competition, though.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A new 40,000-square-foot golf entertainment complex, similar to Topgolf, is set to open in Perrysburg, adding competition to nearby golf businesses.

However, Pro Golf Fairways owner Jeff Manore, who has virtual golf facilities in Toledo and Rossford, remains confident about his business’s future.

“I have been doing it for almost 20 years,” Manore said. “I’ve been in the golf business for 40 years, 30 years on the PGA and LPGA tour. I had the luxury to go to the Olympics this past year as a coach.”

The upcoming golf complex will be located on Dixie Highway near Costco and is expected to have two stories with dozens of driving bays and an 18-hole miniature golf course. Despite its proximity to Manore’s Rossford location, he’s confident he’s in a league of his own.

“We’re a sports bar facility and grill that has simulators, so, it’s not just one thing,” Manore said. “They’re not just coming here for simulators.”

Manore also emphasized his competitive pricing as a key advantage.

“I try to keep my pricing down,” Manore said. “We’re roughly maximum $40 an hour per simulator. We’re less than that during weekdays, daytime and the summertime.”

Manore welcomes the competition, believing the region can accommodate multiple golf businesses.

“I think people are going to find out it’s going to be fine, and there’s going to be enough room for many more businesses,” he said.

The name and timeline of the new facility has not been announced, but more information is expected on Jan. 15.
