Operating for over 18 years, Maid for You has already provided services for two individuals
TOLEDO, Ohio — A local cleaning company is helping ease the burden for cancer patients by donating professional cleanings through a new partnership with The Victory Center.
Maid for You, a residential cleaning business based in the Toledo area, is offering free whole-house cleanings to Victory Center participants once a month. The idea began when Andrea Dubois, owner of Maid for You, and her team brainstormed ways to give back.
“Our goal was that maybe we could start to grow something here. We can provide our services, but maybe it would catch on to other businesses that will continue to donate their services as well, because these are people who really need this,” Dubois said.
The Victory Center, which offers free supportive services to cancer patients and survivors, worked closely with Maid for You to develop an application process to identify individuals most in need. The cleanings are customized based on the recipient’s specific health and home circumstances.
“Giving a gift of this magnitude really changes someone’s outlook and hopefully gives them some hope for the future and restores that faith in humanity,” said Kimberly Rosinski, special events manager at The Victory Center. “This partnership has now set up a formula for the Victory Center to reach out to other community organizations… and offer necessary resources to our cancer community.”
Rosinski said many participants struggle with daily tasks such as housework while undergoing treatment like chemotherapy or recovering from surgery. Having a clean home can bring emotional relief and allow them to focus on healing.
Dubois said the program is about more than just cleaning; it’s about being a bright spot during a dark time.
“If we can be a bright spot on their journey and provide something that’s really necessary and important to them, it’s just, it’s a win-win,” she said.
So far, two recipients have received cleanings through the program, with plans to continue monthly.
The Victory Center hopes the success of the initiative inspires other service-based businesses to offer similar support.
