TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men’s basketball program will host James Madison University on Saturday, Feb. 8Â in its second matchup of the 2024-25 MAC-SBC Challenge, per an announcement from the Mid-American Conference.
The first meeting ever between the Rockets and Dukes will tip off at 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena with streaming on ESPN+. James Madison possesses a 9-8 overall (2-3 SBC) record this season and advanced to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament with a 72-61 upset of No. 5 seed Wisconsin.
Toledo dropped its first contest in the MAC-SBC Challenge earlier this season with an 84-74 road setback to Troy in its season opener on Nov. 4.
Current NET rankings, projected season finish and previous cross-conference contests were all considered when making the pairings.Â
The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance of the men’s and women’s basketball programs in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Sun Belt Conference (SBC).Â
Toledo (9-6, 3-0 MAC) will return to action tomorrow night when it visits Akron (10-5, 3-0 MAC) in matchup of two of the MAC’s four remaining unbeaten teams. Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m. in James A. Rhodes Arena with streaming on ESPN+.
