COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior guard/forward Taylor Thierry was selected in the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday evening, bringing the total number of Buckeye draftees to 20. Thierry was selected 37th overall by the Atlanta Dream with the Dream’s second pick of the draft.
Taylor Thierry wrapped up her collegiate career ranking in the top 30 in program history in eight career categories. She ranks fifth in field goal percentage (.597), 10th in steals (234), 15th in rebounds (675) and 23rd in scoring (1,270), to name a few. Thierry was one of 10 semifinalists for the 2025 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award, All-Big Ten Defensive Team and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention (media) this season. She is also a CSC Academic All-District selection, as well as an OSU Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten honoree. On Nov. 28, 2024, Thierry became the 39th player in program history to score 1,000 career points. She led the Buckeyes and tied for the Big Ten lead in steals per game (2.3) this season, finishing the year with a career-high 77 steals. This was Thierry’s third consecutive season averaging more than 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as she started 101 consecutive games between her sophomore and senior seasons. Her 131 games in a Buckeye uniform ranks 11th in program history.
