Buckeye Spotlight – April 15



COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeyes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. ‘Buckeye Spotlight’ recognizes Buckeye student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score. 

Denzell Feagin | Men’s Track & Field | Sr. | Canal Winchester, Ohio  

  • Feagin claimed two event titles at the USF Invite this past weekend.  
  • His PR in the 100m (10.23) earned him an individual win. Feagin was also a member of the winning 4x100m relay (39.98).  
  • This season, Feagin ranks 36th in the country in the 100m and is part of the 4x100m relay squad that ranks 20th.  

Vaughn Harber | Men’s Golf | Fr. | Blacklick, Ohio 

  • Harber led the Buckeyes to their first victory of the season at the Buckeye Classic at Columbus Country Club. 
  • He shot rounds of 70-68-72 to finish fourth at 6-under par.  
  • Both his fourth-place finish and his 6-under par finish were the best of his freshman campaign thus far. 
  • The Buckeyes are also hosting the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate this weekend at the OSU Golf Club.  

Kary Hollenbaugh | Women’s Golf | Jr. | New Albany, Ohio 

  • Hollenbaugh won her fourth event of the spring season over the weekend, claiming the title at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational.  
  • Hollenbaugh’s four wins are tied for the most in a single season in program history.  
  • She fired a 54-hole score of 208 (-8) to win the title. She shot three under-par rounds and two rounds in the 60s. She has shot a team-best 12 rounds in the 60s this season.  
  • Hollenbaugh led the field of 69 players in birdies with 13 and in par 4 scoring; she was four-under on par 4s.  
  • Hollenbaugh also helped the Buckeyes to the team title. Ohio State won the tournament for the 19th time in program history and for the fourth straight year with a team score of 866 (+2

Thomas Leahey | Men’s Volleyball | Gr. | State College, Pa. 

  • Leahey started in a pair of road wins at Quincy to end regular-season competition.
  • He earned career kill No. 500 in a 3-0 sweep of the Hawks in the series opener
  • Leahey finished the weekend hitting. .421 and had nine kills with just one error on 19 swings. He also added an assist, two aces, three digs and four blocks.
  • Ohio State will play host to Lindenwood at 5 p.m. Saturday in the MIVA quarterfinals. 

Reagan Milliken | Softball | Sr. | Bethal Park, Pa. 

  • Milliken returned to her home state of Pennsylvania last weekend and had a career day on Sunday at Penn State, tying a single game school record with three home runs in a 14-11 series-clinching win over the Nittany Lions. 
  • She became the first Buckeye in 19 years to have three home runs in a game and just the third in the 52-year history of the program. 
  • Milliken’s big game upped her season batting average to .348 with 16 home runs and 62 RBI. 


Janela Spencer | Women’s Track & Field | Jr. | Mandeville, Jamaica 

  • Spencer earned two event wins this past weekend at the USF Invite.  
  • Individually, she won the 100m hurdles by tying her personal best time (12.99) from last season’s NCAA Outdoor Championships. She also ran a leg on the winning 4x100m relay (44.89).
  • Spencer ranks 10th in the country in the 100m hurdles, while the 4x100m relay squad is 31st.
