TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo football team’s appearance at the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 20 was watched by nearly 1.5 million viewers on ESPN and was the highest rated show on cable TV that day.
Toledo won the game vs. Liberty, 21-19. The game had a 0.35 rating and was watched by 1.468 million viewers, more than two NBA games that were broadcast that same night.
The Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl marked Toledo’s ninth appearance on national TV this year, setting a school record, and was the second-highest number of viewers for a Rocket football game in 2022. Toledo’s contest at Ohio State on Fox on Sept. 17 drew 3.05 million viewers, the most ever to see the Rockets play on television. Overall, more than six millions viewers saw the Rockets play on national TV this season.
