Rockets Introduce New Mesh Chairback Seating in Glass Bowl for 2023

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo Athletics is excited to introduce a brand-new seating amenity for football fans at the Glass Bowl this fall. 

New mesh chairbacks will be installed to enhance select mid-field seats behind the Rocket bench.  The chairbacks are being added at no additional charge for Season Ticket Members sitting in Zone B (Rows N-RR) of Section 5, right at the 50-yard line.  The new durable, weatherproof seats feature the Toledo Rockets logo and are composed of a midnight blue breathable mesh, creating a cooler, more enjoyable experience. Toledo is one of 17 schools to introduce this first-of-its-kind, fully customizable, reclining mesh seat for the 2023 college football season.

The demand for an additional premium seating option has led to the investment in enhancing the best outdoor seating locations in the Glass Bowl.

“Providing the best game-day experience is critically important to our department,” said Deputy Athletic Director Al Tomlinson. “Being one of the first universities to add these seats is one of many steps we are taking to enhance game days in the Glass Bowl.  We look forward to seeing them filled for what should be an even more exciting Toledo football season.”

Availability of the new seats is extremely limited and will only be added to the approximately 600 seats in Zone B of Section 5.  With over two-thirds of those seats already sold, fans are encouraged to act quickly to guarantee access to this new option. Season Ticket Members outside of that area can still rent the vinyl chairback option as in previous seasons for $39 per seat. 

The reigning MAC Champions kick off their home schedule with Toledo’s Biggest Party on Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. Texas Southern, the first of four consecutive Saturday home games.
