Perrysburg Schools levy passes with strong voter support, district avoids major cuts

Unofficial results show the five-year, $11 million emergency levy passing 66% to 34%; certification by the wood county board of elections is pending

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Voters overwhelmingly approved the Perrysburg Exempted Village School District’s five-year, $11 million emergency property tax levy Tuesday, with unofficial results showing 66% in favor and 34% opposed.

The 7.83-mill levy will cost about $274 per $100,000 of appraised home value and takes effect in 2026. District leaders said the renewal will allow Perrysburg Schools to maintain staffing levels, academic programs, and extracurricular activities amid continued enrollment growth.

Had the levy failed, officials warned of deep cuts beginning with the 2026-27 school year — including elimination of athletics and extracurriculars, teacher reductions, and limited busing. The Wood County Board of Elections will certify official results later this month.

The levy is the district’s first new operating request in more than a decade. Results remain unofficial until certified by the Wood County Board of Elections.
