3 BGSU football players arrested, charged with assault

The arrests included a fullback and two wide receivers.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Three Bowling Green State University football players were arrested and charged with assault Tuesday, according to court records.

Information filed in Bowling Green Municipal Court shows that Brennan Ridley, Caleb Goodloe and Leo Kemp all were arrested Tuesday morning. Ridley was booked at approximately 9 a.m., Kemp just before 10 a.m. and Goodloe shortly before 11 a.m.

All three were charged with misdemeanor assault. Ridley and Kemp entered pleas of not guilty, while court records only showed Goodloe’s attorney filed an initial appearance form.

According to BGSU’s online football roster, Kemp, a junior, is a fullback for the team and joined the Falcons this summer. Goodloe is a wide receiver and a redshirt freshman. Ridley, a sophomore, is also a wide receiver.

Ridley was released on an own-recognizance bond and is due back in court on Nov. 21 at 10 a.m.  Goodloe is due back on Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. Kemp was ordered not to have any contact with the alleged assault victim. Kemp is due back in court on Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m.

It’s unknown if the arrested are connected to one another and, if so, how they are connected. The circumstances of the arrest are also unknown at this time.

WTOL 11 has reached out to BGSU for comment but did not immediately hear back.
